Nepal bagged the ‘Best Destination Video Award’ at EUROAL, the VIIth International Travel Market held from June 2-4, 2016, at Costa del Sol Conference Center in Torremolinos (Andalucia), Malaga, Spain. Nepal made the first ever participation at the fair and it was aimed at communicating the latest updates and to streamline positive message throughout Europe.
The platform was effective to reach out to the target market of Europe and to further explore the potential of Spanish market following participation at FITUR – Madrid in January 2016 where Nepal was awarded in the Premium Stand Country Category. The participation presented private sector members with opportunities to renew contacts, make B2B sessions, and to consolidate new partnerships with the local and other European tour operators. The B2B Workshop at EUROAL was designed specifically to be instrumental to make new business contacts and establish partnerships with outbound operators from across the world.
Nepal’s participation at EURAL 2016 portrayed a Nepal pavilion with attractive and colorful graphics with special focus on culture and soft adventure attraction that Nepal has to offer to the European visitors. During the fair NTB distributed various promotional materials such as brochures, booklet, posters, and typical Nepali Dolls Souvenirs etc. from the Nepal Pavilion to the trade and consumer attending fair. NTB received queries from media, trade and consumers about the present state of tourism products and services. Spanish has high esteem for cultural, natural and adventure tourism attractions in Nepal.
Nepal’s participation at EUROAL 2016 was led by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), with 8 private sector tour companies from Nepal: Snowy Horizon Treks & Expedition Pvt Ltd, Dalima Tours & Travels P Ltd, Best Friendship Int’l Tours & Travels (P) Ltd, Home & Away Travels & Tours (P) Ltd, Actual Adventure Pvt Ltd, Trek to Himalaya Pvt Ltd, Well Adventure Tours & Travel P Ltd, and Mega International Tours & Travels Pvt Ltd. They mainly engaged in both B2B and B2C promotion during the fair. Amongst many exciting options, the private sector had customized various lucrative packages to suit the interests and choice for the Spanish tourists.
Along with the private sector companies, Nepal delegation was represented by NTB official Mr. Rohini Prasad Khanal, Sr. Officer – Corporate Services Department.
